Simon Fordham - CEO & Founder

Welcome

Serial entrepreneur, multi-award winning mentor, coach and consultant, Freeman of the Company of Entrepreneurs and Freeman of the City of London, and holding a masters qualification in executive coaching and mentoring, Simon now reaffirms his passion of and commitment to helping those in business, while helping those that help others in business, by launching the Institute of Business Support Professionals.

Simon is an impressive entrepreneur, having started, run, led and successfully exited several businesses in hospitality, leisure, events and construction. The events company operated in 34 countries with an annual customer base of 460,000. In 2012 he co-founded the multi award winning Fordham Henderson Consulting Ltd. supporting business owners, founders and CEO’s.

From 2019-2024 Simon was Chair of the Association of Business Mentors (ABM) where he grew the organisation from 100 to over 3000 members and created 4 unique ILM qualifications in business mentoring and coaching, up to Master’s level. In 2022, he successfully bid for and was awarded, in a tri-party consortium, the Government contract to vet, train and support mentors on the biggest business support programme in Europe, leading the ABM team as Project Director. He was invited to form the UK Government’s Mentoring Council, working closely with the Department of Business and Trade and the Business Minister.

He is Chair of the internationally recognised National Mentoring Day (83 million followers), Mentoring Champion for the Institute of Directors (23,000 members), Chair of Scale-Up Britain (the Government supported, independent national campaign to grow British businesses) and board advisor to the Social Enterprise City of London newspaper ‘City Matters’. Author, speaker and business support advocate, he splits his time between voluntary and paid mentoring and coaching executives, business owners and celebrities. He is a passionate advocate for the improvement of standards in professional business support. Simon is a massive foodie and cook, loves the theatre and helping others. His ‘saying’ is “Don’t stop until you’re finished," and he's not finished yet!
